WH - Obama’s Whereabouts Irrellevant
As the one year anniversary approaches, I would not want to be one of the Obama talking heads sent out to news shows to address the still unanswered questions surrounding Benghazi.
In May 2013, Dan Pfeiffer, White House Advisor, sat in the hot seat on Fox News Sunday while Chris Wallace pressed him on the President's whereabouts September 11, 2012.
While the U.S. consulate was under attack, President Obama was MIA. Although Mr. Pfeiffer used a lot of words, he never answered the question and so Mr. Wallace pressed again. Mr. Pfeiffer's best response, The president's whereabouts is false conspiracy created by the GOP.
It has been established President Obama spoke with Hillary Clinton 4.5 hours after the attack began at 10 pm, and he did not speak with Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta after being notified at 5:30 pm that the consulate in Benghazi, Libya was under attack.
According to Pfeiffer, Obama's National Security team "would have been" the people who kept him up to date..." Pfeifer went on to say the President's whereabouts is irrelevant. Really?
For a president who makes certain photo ops are routinely available of him making the tough decisions required of the commander in chief, the absence of the photos or for that matter of the President on 9/11/12 is conspicuous. The lack of transparency and willingness to answer the most basic of questions by the Obama administration keeps the story alive a year after the tragedy, and yet the administration possesses all documentation needed to stop the dastardly GOP conspiracy, so here's an idea - prove it!
If questions of the president's whereabouts is simply a GOP conspiracy, show the American people the GOP is filled with partisan hacks.
Surely phone logs of the calls between the president and the national security team who "would have" kept him apprised of the Benghazi attack are available. Right?
And should the president instead have met in person with his advisors, surely his security detail can provide an account of Obama's whereabouts on September 11, 2012. Right?
Afterall, everyone is aware of the presidents whereabouts on 9/12/2012, he attended a Las Vegas campaign fundraiser, so why not tell the American people where he was the night before? The Obama administration's response on year later....Crickets, crickets.
